A Villa Delia Wedding in Valencia Megan & Jonathan

Guests shower Megan and Jonathan with white petals as they walk away from the ceremony at Villa Delia.

Valencia was where Megan and Jonathan took their first holiday together. With Jonathan’s family roots in Spain, returning here to get married brought together two parts of their story.

On 12 June 2026, the UK-based couple celebrated their wedding at Villa Delia in Picanya, Valencia. Their plans were simple: a relaxed day, plenty of fun, and photographs that captured their friends and family as they were. A classic car, a ceremony framed by greenery and a party under the night sky gave us plenty to work with.

From Valencia’s Old Town to Villa Delia

The day began with preparations in central Valencia. Megan got ready near Sant Martí, where the balcony and surrounding architecture offered a setting for a few bridal portraits before leaving for the ceremony. Her lace dress, softly waved hair and white bouquet brought a classic feel to the morning.

Jonathan spent his preparations in Ciutat Vella. Before heading to the venue, we photographed him with his groomsmen against one of the city’s grand stone doorways: pale jackets, black bow ties and sunglasses in the afternoon light.

These photographs became part of the wider story of their wedding in Valencia, connecting the city where their relationship had made an early memory with the place where they would celebrate their marriage.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Villa Delia

At Villa Delia, the ceremony was arranged in front of the house. Its warm-coloured façade, shuttered windows and climbing greenery created a distinctive backdrop, with shade offering some welcome relief from the June sunshine.

A stone pathway led towards the ceremony, bordered by planting and garden walls. Megan arrived in a white classic convertible, its deep red interior adding a striking splash of colour. The car stopped at the end of the path before her entrance.

From a photographer’s perspective, that approach was one of the most interesting parts of the setting. It gave us space to show the arrival in context, then move closer to the people and their reactions.

After the ceremony, Megan and Jonathan walked back between their guests beneath a shower of petals. The photographs bring together so much of what defined the day: the house, the greenery, their friends and family, and two very happy people at the centre of it all.

Drinks in the Shade and Portraits by the Classic Car

The drinks reception took place in a shaded area close to the ceremony. Guests gathered over food and drinks while we photographed conversations, family groups and the moments unfolding between them.

Megan and Jonathan had asked for mostly spontaneous photographs, alongside a few arranged portraits. We kept that balance in mind throughout the afternoon, helping with direction when they wanted it and giving them room to enjoy their guests.

For their couple portraits, we returned to the classic car at the end of the garden path. They wanted photographs there, and the shade made it a useful spot to work. The white bodywork, red upholstery and surrounding greenery gave those images a character of their own.

For couples planning a summer wedding at Villa Delia, this is something worth discussing with your photographer: how the light and shade will fall around your ceremony and portrait times. On Megan and Jonathan’s day, we could work with a place they already loved.

Dinner Beneath Wooden Beams, Then Dancing Outside

Dinner brought everyone into Villa Delia’s covered reception space. A timber ceiling, woven pendant lights and terracotta flooring gave the room a warm atmosphere, with round tables arranged beneath the beams.

The photographs of Megan and Jonathan kissing beside their cake, glasses raised and guests cheering around them, show how quickly the room filled with energy. Those wider frames matter to us as much as the close portraits: they preserve the faces and reactions surrounding the couple.

Later, the celebration moved outside to the adjoining party area. Guests gathered around the DJ, light-up foam sticks appeared above the dance floor, and the photographs became full of movement.

The setting changed throughout the day, but the feeling stayed consistent. This was the relaxed, fun celebration Megan and Jonathan had hoped for.

Photographing Megan and Jonathan’s Wedding

Before the wedding, Megan and Jonathan told us they loved photographs taken in the moment, but would also appreciate help with their portraits. That combination shaped how we approached their day.

We paid attention to the people around them, made time for family photographs and offered guidance during the couple portraits. The aim was to give them a collection that included both how everything looked and how it felt to be there.

Afterwards, Jonathan shared these words:

> “Wow, Diego and his team were simply brilliant on our wedding day!! We recommend him highly and we will cherish the memories that he captured for us forever! Also he was truly the nicest person and made us feel so comfortable throughout!! Legend, thank you Diego!!! ”

— Jonathan Thompson

Knowing they felt comfortable with us means a great deal. Their photographs will hold the details of Villa Delia, but also the people they brought together and the way they celebrated with them.
